Arthur Garson, Jr.

Arthur “Tim” Garson, Jr. is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine. He is the former provost of the University of Virginia and dean of the UVA School of Medicine.  He has been Dean of Academic Operations at Baylor College of Medicine and Vice President of Texas Children’s Hospital. He currently is an affiliated faculty member of the Hobby School of Public Affairs and Clinical Professor of Population Health in the College of Medicine at University of Houston.  He has taught or lectured on all seven continents and is the author of 595 publications, including 10 books. He lives in Houston.
